Can America Turn it Around?
« on: January 16, 2008, 08:36:49 AM »
I'm heartened by the new cars coming from the American car companies. The new Chevy Malibu, that just beat out the Honda Accord forNorth American car of the year, is a good looking car...nice lines, good exterior. The interior, in person, is a little low buck. They should step up the quality of their materials if they're really going to compete with the imports, but its still far and away better than the previous Malibu.
I was behind a new Cadillac CTS this morning...the first thing they've made in a long time that looks like it might appeal to someone under retirement age. Saturn has reinvented practically their entire line and filled it with cars that no one would be embarassed to admit owning.
Time will tell. Will these good looking rides start falling apart, as seems to be the American way? Or are American car companies really going to turn themselves around?

AFA (American Family Association) sent emails all over the nation asking people to boycott Ford because of Ford's homosexual agenda. (Google if you want to learn more) This was a year or so ago.  Perhaps the boycott has hurt Ford more than they realize.  I wonder if Toby Keith knows about Ford's homosexual agenda? :roflmao:

AFA is a joke--its one of those organizations that gives the impression that all Christians are a bunch of whacko zealots. Id venture it does more to turn people away from Christianity than it does to turn people away from Ford.
And what homosexual agenda? They advertise in gay publications as I understand it. A company is foolish to ignore the gay market. They make more money and since most of them dont have children, can spend a bigger portion of that money. I imagine most car makers advertise in such magazines. The AFA boycott had no measurable effect, I can assure you. Ford hasnt sold cars because they dont make cars anyone wants.

They also sent one out saying Kroger allows homosexuals to work for them so to boycott them. Kroger is still going strong.

I guess windwalker would prefer homosexuals be unemployed.
But then, who would do her blue rinse every Friday?

Pajamas Media: Driven a Ford Lately? Not if You're Boycotting

Apparently, AFA isn't the joke Gry thought it was...

I contend it is.
Fords losses since 2006 are similar to the losses suffered by other American car companies NOT being boycotted.
One might be reminded that Fords problems have more to do with high oil prices slowing demand for their SUVs and trucks than what any far right fringe group thinks of the way they do business. (NOTE TO ALL: THE AFA is the sort of "Christian group" that does nothing but make Christians look like a bunch of bigots---and the very sort that has people crying that Christianity is being reduced to a political tool)

What? Just because an organization tells Christians about companies who's business decisions we as Christians may disagree with makes them bigots? Last I heard we're free to spend our money wherever we want, and it's nobody's business what company I choose to spend or not spend my money with. Such a suggestion is bigoted against Christians. BTW, have you ever listened to AFA radio, or read their newsletters?
