when did it start locking?nbsp; Did you install anything rpior to it starting the locking up?

My computer is about 4 months old.

The only things I have installed were spybot and adaware. I guess something in one of them could be acting up. The computer crashed about three weeks ago and I had to run a bunch of stuff, with the aid of a HP Tech, to get it up and running again. One of the things I had to do took about 3 hours. She called me back to check on it, but it hasnt been the same ever since. I am just your average computer user and I am not into what makes one tick. Right now I have a bug in my email system. When I try to open windows mail, it takes about three minutes for it to completely open. If you try pressing keys to unlock it you get the message windows mail not responding. But like I say, after about three minutes, it opens. I am ticked to say the least.

How is this doing now Tony?

Vista is crap. I bought 2 new computers for the company recently, both preloaded with Vista Home Premium. Nothing but problems from first boot - slower than Methuselah, out of memory errors, random lockups and crashes... this on machines that came with the OS installed!!!  *7*

After 4 days of this, I wiped them both clean and installed XP.

At home, I'll continue to use Linux for most of my computing needs - on the rare occasion I have to run a Windows app, I simply run a copy of XP Professional as a virtual machine using VMWare Workstation.

Back to on-line banking, etc:

Quote from: Tony Light on June 06, 2008, 09:16:03 AM:  Do either of you do on-line banking and bill pay? We started doing this last month and it is so easy and simple. I just wish I had started it earlier.

Posted by Bo D  on June 06, 2008, 10:07:38 AM:  I don't. Our bank is a very small locally owned outfit that I simply don't trust with the security required for on-line banking. And extenuating circumstances are in place that make it difficult for me to change banks. Call me old fashioned.
