LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Carl Edwards is under fire for his Brad Keselowski crash last night. Carl Edwards’ crash into Keselowski at Gateway International Raceway came after Brad was leading roughly 136 of 200 laps.
Brad’s father Bob told ESPN’s Jerry Punch “Brad got into Carl getting out of Turn 1 racing. They bumped, they rubbed — typical rubbin’ racin’ deal. Carl flipped out like he did at Atlanta and tried to kill the kid. I’m sick and tired of this. I’ll get my own d-n uniform back on and take care of this. He ain’t gonna kill my boy.”
Edwards’ refused to defend himself and said simply “I had to do what I had to do”. “I just couldn’t let him take the win from me. We came to win. He took it from us there in turn one. And, man, I just couldn’t let him take it from us. I had to do what I had to do.”
Brad says that Edwards doesn’t know how to win by racing so he just crashes his competition. “I figured out a way to beat him. He wasn’t happy with me, so he wrecked me. Wrecking down the straightaway is never cool whether it’s at 200 mph or 120. I’m sorry that’s the way it had to end.”
Edwards later continued to paint the situation differently saying “I was not the aggressor in this situation”. Really? “The deal is he’ll eventually learn he can’t run into my car over and over and put me in
