New Mexico's K-12 education system gets a C from the Quality Counts 2011 report by Education Week.
The state’s 75.7 score is below the national average of 76.3. Twelve states received B grades, led by No. 1 Maryland at 87.6, none received grades of A. Only two states, Nebraska and South Dakota, and Washington, D.C., received grades of D. <----- Whoooa!

In all, Education Week grades states on 17 categories. New Mexico received its best grades in standards, assessments and accountability, an A-.
It did the worst in K-12 achievement, an F. <---- whoooa!
