It's also another example proving how people will lie about themselves on the internet over the most innocuous things.

It's common knowledge that when someone claims to 'ignore' someone else online that they are almost invariably lying.  Ignoring people is an inconsequential act yet internet addicts prove time and time again that they'll lie over and over about doing so - and prove they're lying by their words and actions.
