Confuse the enemy.
« on: February 22, 2007, 01:36:44 PM »
Maybe thats what the democrats are doing. They dont agree with the Bush plan, so they have came up with their own plan. Confuse the enemy.

The plan calls for voting one way on the war and then talking a different tune. Voting to confirm Generals and then disagreeing with his plans. Example, didn't the Senate vote unanimously -- 81 to 0 -- to confirm Gen. David Petraeus as the new top military commander in Iraq? And doesn't Patraeus support the president's plan to increase the troop levels, calling this "surge" necessary to achieve our objectives? Yet the very same Democrats -- with some Republicans -- who voted for Patraeus oppose the plan to achieve his and the president's stated objectives. Yes, confuse the enemy.

Right now, somewhere in Iraq, a confused al Qaeda sympathizer must be saying, "No government could be that dysfunctional." But then, they havent had to deal with democrats.

How else can they take the democrats Gryph. When a member of al Qaeda hears a senator say, I voted for the funding before I voted against the funding, or, If I knew now what I didnt know then, I would have voted different, or, I talked to trusted advisors and my husband and now I am mad at Obama, what would they think Gryph.

Im sure its no more laughable than when we go into the wrong country looking for weapons that dont exist and then create a quagmire that we have no idea how to get out of.

"Why did a majority of Democratic Senators - such as Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Harry Reid, Jay Rockefeller and Chuck Schumer - vote to authorize a war with Iraq on Oct. 11, 2002? And why is this war now supposedly George Bush's misfortune and not theirs?"

Because, as everybody but you knows now, they were fed a bunch of false and cooked up intelligence by the Bush administration.

It's unfortunate that Bush mentioned WMDs in the beginning. It's given back-stabbing liberals a line to parrot ever since. Even though most of them, as well as most of the world intelligence believed it, we just gave them too much time and warning and the weapons went to Syria. Even though the reasons for the war were and are valid. Even though the efforts of gutless, Bush hating liberals are largely responsible for the present state of affairs. Liberals are like good time charlies and fans who change their allegiance whenever their team looks like its getting behind. They may change sides several times during the same game! I think there would be plenty of room for these people in Europe. They would fit right in with the World Socialism Society there. I hope they will consider it when Hillary looses. They could help offset the population decline there, get socialized medicine and be proud of their 70% tax rate.

BoD, you forget that most of the intelligence used was "cooked up" during the Clinton years.

Then why the flat out lies trying to support it?

"Senior administration officials tell CBS News the President’s mistaken claim that Iraq tried to buy uranium from Africa was included in his State of the Union address -- despite objections from the CIA."

"In addition, members of Congress and Parliament, as well as potential political opponents and outside observers have criticized the use of intelligence by the Bush and Blair administrations. Charges have included outright distortion, selective use of intelligence, and exertion of political pressure to influence the content of intelligence estimates in order to provide support to the decision to go to war with Iraq."

OK genius.............let's hear it!  It wasn't WMD's, it ain't the oil, it wasn't an alliance with al Queda, it wasn't a terrorist haven, and they had nothing to do with 9/11.

We want to hear why "the reasons for the war were and are valid!"  I've been waiting for years to hear someone...........ANYONE.............give a valid reason for  CHOOSING to invade a nation that wasn't a threat, and was actually a "buffer" state in the region.

I'm curious about this statement. If this is in reference to the state of affairs in Iraq

1. Bush was given the option - HE made the final decision whether or not to use the option.
2. Bush set troop levels - no one else.
3. Bush got every penny he's asked for in the debacle.

The ONLY republican that can claim ANY responsiblity for the current mess is BUSH .... and no one else!
