I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but what's special about the Amtrak station at Prince?  :1:

I'm not trying to appear to be a know-it-all, and having never seen the facility I can only offer an opinion based on the article, which says it's a "historic" structure. Many people find the older designed structure more attractive than modern ones, and find that when they are "restored" not only are they suitable for their intended purpose, but make attractive tourist attractions as well.

You need to take a ride down there and look at it for yourself, then you'll see what I'm talking about. It just seems to be an ordinary building.

Was in Beckley yesterday, but late in the evening and was time constrained. Funny they would do a story about a depot, but not show a picture of it.  :1:

I agree...maybe not in this case as I have not seen it, but I think generally speaking the restoration of historic buildings adds to the uniqueness of a city.

The last time I passed through Prince, the depot was the city. There used to be a little mom and pop store just down the road, but it has been closed for quite some time.

That sounds cool....small towns...I love 'em.  My favorite in Iowa was this church on a hill...that was town...farmers came from all around and I hear the church was the post office, as well.

I love small towns...

Man,...I went right by it on Tuesday.  I shoulda took a picture.  Anywho.....as Graybeard says, it doesn't appear to be anything special.  It appears to be a late 50s kind of building, squarish, brick, flat roof, waiting room inside with rows of identical individual plastic chairs.  Maybe 4 foot wide windows about 3 feet high, with a vertical row of, I'd say, four of these windows.  Maybe something like 5-6 of these vertical rows of windows on the side of the building.  Certainly nothing like I think of as the general "shape" of an old-timey depot ala those in Waiteville, Paint Bank, and Princeton.
