My father was a smoker until he died of lung cancer. I don't smoke, and only drink small amounts socially. But when my sweet friend Shirley, who is a boozer and chain smoker mourning the recent loss of the love of her life, comes to visit, I get out the ashtray. (I have enough trouble keeping myself in line without trying to take on others.) Libby

Thanks, pobaby, for that great anecdote... My views aren't that extreme, but I too wish there were an "easy" way out, and pray daily for such... I will hopefully wake up one day, and "decide" to stop... or die... Don't know which thus far...
