If He does, how do we know it is Him and not someone else?

They have medications for people who hear voices.

God and Satan both talk to us.  We make a choice as to which one to listen to (Free Will).

I am so hesitant to post in this group again due to the blasphemy some brought in on my last post.  God does talk to us.  I don't know anyone who is so blessed God has audibly talked to them, but God speaks to us through the Bible.  God can also speak to us through sermons, and things like that in which He uses to communicate with us.  The Holy Spirit also guides our convictions.  There are those out there who think God speaks to them, they do a lot of work in God's name, and come to find they are just self serving, self glorifying people.  Look at Jim Baker, but there are those even around here even in our own county who do God's work but actually are just serving their own egos and do it because God told them to.  God told us all through Jesus to Make disciples and baptize them.  He told us to help the poor, He told us to feed the hungry and warm the cold, and all this stuff but He also told us to do it to His glory, not to our own.  The difference in someone who does it for God and one who does it for themselves is the direction the trumpet it blowing.

:1:  I didn't see any profane language or defamation of the name of God.   And as for those who serve their own egos,  you'll have that anywhere.

So, if I pray to God for answers,  Satan can answer?

So, If Jim Baker used "God told me to" as a defense, it would not be true?

OH I am so intimidated.  You all scare me so, almost like there are some in attack mode.  I posted about Jesus coming back and some said Jesus would tell us He is just a man.  Blasphemy.  I am sorry now for ever posting about it.  I am almost sorry for posting on this topic, also.  I am sure everyone knows of at least one self serving person who claims to do God's work.  That is all I am saying here.   Forget the blasphemy and the other stuff I said.   I am sorry.  I am so timid I guess, since my dear John passed I have been this way.  I just look for ways to occupy my mind.  I will try to stay from the religious debates.

If you're not saved, and the prayer you're praying is something other than praying for your salvation, you can be sure the one answering you is satan.

Some say once, others many times. I don't think that's addressed in the Bible unless you go by how many times Jesus told us to forgive our brother. In that case it would be 490.

Sig... Noone said believing in God would be easy or for that matter not believeing for those who do not would be easy.  If everyone agreed on everything it would be a dull world.  Everyone will have their own opinions on things.  As you have noticed on the boards I am sure.  However it is a learning experience  for everyone and it gives insight to others Ideas and opinions.  Don't let it hurt your feelings.  If you believe in something stand behind it and back it but know there are always others with opposite beliefs and like it or not we all have the rights to our own beliefs.  Turn everything into a learning experience and  try not to take it real personal.  Most everyone on here is very strong willed and strong minded.  But really if you think about it without that it would be very boring.  The political and religious topics get a little heated.  But they are the ones that also help us to see where others are coming from.  Doesn't mean you will ever agree with them.   :thumps:
