TV series "Bones"
« on: October 14, 2007, 12:33:20 PM »
Bones is one of my absolute favorite TV series.  I just love the chemistry between Bones and Boothe.  I'm such a fan that I even have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD.  Does anyone else watch this show?  What do you think of it?

P.S.  I've got all of Kathy Reichs' novels too.  I'm really a fan!   abb^

Hi Gracie: I've never watched "Bones," but did thumb through one of Kathy Reichs' books in a bookstore recently. Her credentials are impressive, and I would've bought it - but then I thought about the stack of 'must read' books I have beside my easy chair and decided to wait a while. Libby

Hi, Libby.  I've missed seeing you!  I know what you mean about that stack of unread books.  I'm afraid mine has been relegated to a box under my bed now, LOL!  Maybe when that cold winter wind is whistling, I'll pull them out to read... or not.

I think you might enjoy Kathy Reichs' novels.  I was hooked after my first one.  I have her latest one and the only one in the series that I haven't read yet waiting in my stack.  I used to read them mostly in my doctors' waiting rooms because of my internet addiction.  (Ever have that particular problem?)
Your old friend, Gracie Lou

Yes, Gracie, I know what you mean. I have to admit I have an addiction to this forum. I was hooked as an 'innocent' on the old bdt one threader, then got in deeper on Hey Martha.  I asked my doctor for help, maybe a pill to lessen the urge, but he said the only treatment is cold turkey and/or to have my head examined.  I keep intending to try it, but...wait, you'll have to excuse me - there's another post I just have to read...Libby

Episode Description for tonight:  October 30, 2007

Mummy in the Maze :broom:

When a terrified young Halloween reveler finds the mummified remains of a teenage girl in a Halloween pumpkin patch maze, Brennan and Booth are called to the scene to investigate. They are perplexed by the fact that the girl appears to have been deceased for at least a year, while Hodgins discovers her body is covered with spider bites.  ab#8 ab#8 ab#8 Booth and Brennan later receive word of a second mummy found at a Halloween amusement park funhouse, and it appears the victim, another teenage girl, was killed on Halloween approximately two years prior. As the team questions a variety of ghoulish amusement park employees from the grim reaper  *dk* to a zombie  *rip*, they get word of a third teenage girl who has gone missing. Booth and Brennan realize that they have until Halloween to find her before the killer strikes again. Meanwhile, the team gets decked out in costume for the annual Jeffersonian Halloween Ball, and they encounter a few scares of their own. ^^^^ ab8

Gracie Lou, Are you familiar with "Crossing Jordan"? If not, it's also about what goes on in a morgue (ugh, normally not for me). I got hooked because Jordan, the medical examiner, is played by the beautiful and talented Jill Hennessey, a former Law & Order Asst. D.A. What keeps me coming back 'to the morgue' is the interplay between the excellent cast (headed up by Miguel Ferrar as the Chief), and the humor, often tongue-in- cheek. Libby

Yes, Libby, I used to watch "Crossing Jordan" faithfully when it was on primetime tv.  I still watch it occasionally.  I'm fascinated by the interaction between the characters, too.

I haven't read any Patricia Cornwell books.  I will have to check into those after I finish the last two Kathy Reichs books I have waiting on me.  Does she write forensic anthropology mysteries also?

Her main character is Kay Scarpetta who is a forensic pathologist.  Relaly good books.

I've read some of Patricia Cornwell's books, and they are good. The action takes place in Richmond, VA.

I saw Bones for the first time on Tuesday, and enjoyed it. Trouble is I am also usually watching something else (sometimes NCIS).

Did anyone besides me watch the season finale of Bones?  If so, can you explain to me how and why Zack Addy got entangled with Gormagon?  I was just stunned both times I saw that episode.  I'm at a loss to understand the final plot twist.  Not sweet innocent little Zack!!!  I'm just gobsmacked!!!   *dontknow* *huh* *cover*

I missed it Gracie....sorry.  I like the series, but I ususally forget it's on.  We don't watch very much tv anymore.  Gracie...do you know anyone within the Glenwood area who provides after school care....a friend has an eleven year old that is in the beginning stages of out growing her britches.  Mom is nipping it in the bud...but she doesn't want her going home alone.

Moon, I'm really out of the loop with what's going on here now because I haven't been teaching for over two years now.  However, I still email some of my friends who work there and I will ask them about child care options for your friend.

They've moved Bones to Wednesday nights now.  The new season starts with Bones and Booth in London.  The teaser commercial looks really funny and interesting.  I hope you can find time to eatch a few.
